Mike Burger, Sensei Ian Hart, Dave Norris and Chris Page, all passed their 4th Dan Grading in Stockholm.19 UK kenshi travelled to Stockholm for the 2019 Taikai. 428 Kenshi from all over the world attended. 6 of us took our 4th Dans on the Friday, Watched the Taikai on the Saturday, and attended the training seminar Sunday and Monday. This is us celebrating finishing the grading:-
We attended the Spring Seminar in Tolworth, where we went through all the techniques in the Sango ken and Raken ken family of techniques.
3rd Dan's also had a Q&A with Sensei Maehara which was greatly appreciated. We were visited by Sensei Teemu Kilpeläinen 4th dan, branch master of HÄMEENLINNA Dojo.
Sensei Teemu took the lesson, giving an insight into the development of the techiques. For possibly the first time in club history, we had the Christmas party in the party season, rather then 2 months later! Thanks to Mike for organising.
Following the Grading the previous Friday all kenshi passed and are now 6th Kyu Green belts. Well done and congratulations to all .
Hard to believe it's near the end of 2018. The club held its closing ceremony, which consisted of student demonstrations, and a toast of Saki for the seniors (shloer for the under 18's). The actual last training of the year will be on Monday 17th. Mike and Neils EmbuOctober 13th we all had an Archery lesson, Kindly organised by Ken (armed and dangerous) Morrison, and held at Parley Archery
